Cornel Wilde - 1912-1989, Hungarian-born American actor and director (he was not born in 1915 in New York, as he later liked to claim). He started training as a doctor, and was also picked for the 1936 U.S.A. Olympic fencing team, but gave up both to persue an acting career. His big break came when, as Laurence Olivier's fencing coach for the 1940 Broadway Romeo and Juliet, he was given the role of Tybalt. In Hollywood he played several small roles, before playing the role of Chopin in A Song to Remember, for which he was nominated for the 1945 Oscar for Best Actor. Other starring roles included such movies as: One Thousand and One Nights, The Naked Prey, The Bandit of Sherwood Forest, Forever Amber, The Greatest Show on Earth, The Big Combo, Edge of Eternity, The Scarlet Coat and The Fifth Musketeer, several of which he also directed - 8 x 10 inches (20 x 25 cm) large autographed photo, firmly signed in blue biro. £40

Gene Wilder - born 1933, American actor. A major Hollywood star, he appeared in Bonnie and Clyde, and starred in The Producters, Young Frankenstein, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Stir Crazy and Another You - 6 x 8 inches (15 x 20 cm) autographed photo. Allan Wilkie - 1878-1970, British actor; he trained with Beerbohm Tree and became famous for his Shakespeare roles, particularly Shylock in The Merchant of Venice. He is particularly famous in Australia where he toured with his theatre company 1914 onwards, giving performances all over the country, and boasting that he never performed the same play on two consecutive nights - 3.5 x 5.5 inches (9 x 14 cm) autographed postcard.
