Edward Lloyd - 1845-1927, British tenor. His superb voice gained him early notice, and he was soon in great demand for concerts and oratorios, and although he frequently sang in concert performances of Wagner operas, his short plump stature prevented him from persuing an operatic career on the stage. He is most famous for creating the leading tenor roles in Arthur Sullivan's oratorios The Martyr of Antioch and The Golden Legend, and Hubert Parry's King Saul - 3.5 x 5.5 inches (9 x 14 cm) autographed postcard, postally-used in 1905, signed: "Yours faithfully, Edward Lloyd". Condition: surface-creasing to top corners, and considerable wear and creasing to lower corners. [The condition is reflected in the modest asking price for this scarce autograph]. £20
